Yeah, we had a wild one in June. I suspect a EF0 tornado might have briefly formed at my place, but no confirmation of it. That system produced 4 tornadoes locally. I just remember looking outside at 1AM and being rather concerned about trees blowing every which direction. Had a few piles of limbs to pick up, but thankfully nothing is near the house to do such a thing.

It didn't dawn on me that you weren't using your phone for the shot. duh Well done.
You can see the photo on her phone as she framed it. A variation of that technique is the group photo and avoiding the mad dash with the self-timer to get in the photo. Take your time to frame the photo and arrange the group live, but remember not to be looking at your phone when you press 'click.' Don't ask me how I know this.
