Good morning, It's 07:09 AM in Las Vegas. I just woke up! Thank you for sharing the photo.

Dang' mission abort again? Can you imagine people taking off from work just to watch the rocket launch? I was hoping today would be a good day however they shouldn't launch until it's all done right 100%. Looks like the next attempt is on September 2nd. Which is a Friday. Hopefully, it all goes well by then.
Yes, past a couple of people on the trail after the reschedule for Friday. They will be in England on Friday. TV news were interviewing people from California who were trying to witness the launch. Always a risk.

Oh well, forced to take wildlife photos to bore you with during the next few days.:D

Are you planning on going on Friday? This was a good spot where you were at. Are you able to get any closer to the Rocket?

The Milky Way Express. Abandoned train cars covered in graffiti in the desert east of San Diego. I've waited all summer for a moonless and cloudless night to shoot the Milky Way at its best, and last weekend - the final good weekend of MW visibility of the year - my waiting paid off.

Canon 6D MkII, Canon 16-35 f/2.8 III, exposure made from 20 stacked 15-second @ f/2.8 ISO 6400 images (stars) and one 2-minute @ f/8 ISO 400 image (train), merged in layers in Photoshop.

That spot (Canaveral National Seashore) is closed during the launch, per NASA's option with the National Park Service. While it is open for other launches from that same pad, the Park closes when reaches capacity - then one in one out. The Park does not offer camping, so it is literally park hours sunrise/sunset. The closest that you can get - other than purchased seats via lottery eligibility at the grandstand on NASA property - is about 5 miles away with a view over the water (Intracoastal Waterway) and can physically see the rocket on the pad as it takes off. That is probably where I would end up.

Friday, will have to see, and becomes tempting to make the entire trip. Planned launch is noon which will really clear up the horizon, vs today would have been shooting into the morning sun at 8:30 blowing out the horizon. That is why I had no problem going to the Wetlands Park about 10 miles away and with a lake foreground, waiting for it to clear the trees on the opposite shore. Plus, I totally avoided the traffic jam. While people may straggle in and camp overnight, when it is over, there are 100,000+ people suddenly hopping into their car.
