Its interesting people need to drink in a crowd...
Perhaps.

But when these pubs were built in Britain, considering the conditions most working class people were living in, these pubs were basically an extension of their small homes.
A place they could meet and talk and enjoy some warmth — carpets underfoot! Leather banquets… Chandeliers.

It was bit of joy in pretty awful daily lives — in fact I'd say for many people it is still the case.

Not so much a need to drink communally as company.

These are flowers from my grandson to his mother (my daughter) who is currently admitted to the oncology department at St. Luke's hospital Boise, Idaho. We have been here since Wednesday when we were told my daughter has a very agressive type of cancer - leukemia ALL. She got her first dose of chemo yesterday. We are all in shock and overwhelmed with all that's happening. I haven't been posting as I'm obviously not taking photos, but when I have time I am still enjoying everyone's images. My daughter's life has drastically changes as has mine as I will be her caregiver. Photography is on the back burner, but as this new life unfolds, I hope someday I'll be able to return to finding beautiful things to capture. ❤️

There’s a story here … this Friday morning MTB ride, left pedal strike on that rotting tree stump portion by the trail, sent me and bike flying . Fortunately nothing broken, however wind knocked out, neck and back muscles so achy now.
I’m part of the trail crew, tmrw that rotten stump portion will be gone, before rotting used to ride over the stump.

I feel for you. I've been over the handlebars a few times in my younger, more adventurous days. If it happened to me now, I doubt I'd get up all that quickly!
