Looks like November is over with now in most of the world, and I didn't see a December photo thread yet...

Taken a few hours ago in 30 degree weather. eeesh... on a tripod (obviously). The blur of some of the leaves is from wind.

Well, it's not December yet where I am (9:35pm Nov. 30...) but I'm ready. ;)

This is a really interesting, somewhat spooky photo. I actually like the motion in the leaves, it makes it seem as if the trees are alive... or have erupted into an inferno. Great color.

Street food vendor in Kuala Lumpur. Yeah, I know the hot spot from the reflection is gonna bother some people but I still like the overall look of the photo...

This is the reflection of trees in a little stream/creek thing. I was walking around with this beautiful girl, this is the only picture I took that wasn't of her. It's upside down, to make the trees be right side up.

ISO 200
I want to say 1/100 or 1/125 and f5.6 or f8. It's a manual lense, 135mm f2.8
shot on November 28th.

A new life

While spending a few days in Tucson, Arizona last April, we met this homeless kid who had recently arrived from California. We found him sleeping in a park with this puppy, which he had just been given by someone in the neighborhood the day before. After spending a couple of hours chatting, we donated a 35 lb bag of puppy chow to him, and gave him a ride back to where he was camped out with his girlfriend. Here's hoping things have worked out for him, and he and the pup are doing fine together - one can only pray.

That's a really touching backstory to a great shot, pdx.

Great picture! Even better story!

Thanks for the comments on my last shot. I actually really like the blur in the leaves too, since the branches stayed sharp, it does give a bit of a haunting feeling to the picture. I have one more of the same tree i'll post up tomorrow.

OK, dont laugh. Valdore inspired me to try HDR. My best attempt so far with photoshop. Its OK for my first try, Canon Powershot SD750, and no tripod. Took 3 shots and merged them in photoshop as per a tone mapping tutorial I found online. I suck at photoshop.

Really quick grab as we were leaving the arboretum today. Taken with my Fuji E510 point and shoot, steadied the camera on a rock. Minor curves adjustment in photoshop. December in So Cal.

Goodness! D300 and 300 f/2.8?!?! I'm jealous! the hawk is so sharp it hurts. nice shot!

Here is the same tree that I posted yesterday. I think i might actually like this one a little better. For the few Mass people I see here, this is on Mem drive, right next to the walking bridge that leads towards harvard sq.

I have never seen an eagle like that before! I was told by my cousin its a golden eagle?
