Might use "photos" in your MacBook Pro and use the edit /crop and try to straighten the horizon.. Next try to play with the "luminance" sliders to create better clarity, contrast , luminosity etc.. to your liking. You will immediately see the result..Later on you will start playing with levels and curves.
Good luck..(just trying to help)

Bingo, and a gold star for the boy! Yes, the subject was indeed a magnifier. Didn't know until now that it is called a fresnel magnifier! This is an 8x10" piece of clear plastic which is meant to be a magnifier. Don't remember where I got it, possibly it was another find years ago at my mother's home when I was sorting through things there.... At any rate, I ran across it yesterday and began wondering what interesting thing I could do with it photographically. I set it up leaning against the vertical blinds in the master bedroom, with the sun pouring in through the window and with the colors of nature outside (bushes right under my window are now brown in anticipation of a long, cold winter), and started playing around..... In keeping with the whole experimental nature of this, I shot it with my iPhone rather than getting out the "real" camera.
If you want to see a real fresnel lens, look at a typical lighthouse light. The concentric rings reduce the overall thickness.

Love it!
How do you get a squirrel so close, at least with the lens ?!
It’s actually not too hard. I open a window in my sunroom and then sit and wait. The squirrels and birds eventually go back to normal if I stay still and quiet. On that shot, the squirrel was maybe 4 feet away, and he had just realized he was being watched! He didn’t even mind, just turned and went on with his walnut. Taken with the 100-400 lens, so that shot isn’t even cropped.

Where was this taken?
Zermatt, CH

This was quite by accident. The train arrived at noon and too soon to check in. Had a choice of a 30 minute walk or 10 minute bus ride. Chose to have a nice lunch in town then walk to the hotel. Rewarded with sites would not have experienced on a bus. While traveled light with a backpack, was under dressed in bluejeans light hiking shoes. Most everyone was in insulated ski pants and would hear the click of spikes as they walked.
