Something totally different (and quite boring for this thread), but nonetheless, thought I would post. Here is my primary camera(s). My iPhone 13 Pro. I put dbrand skins on all my devices since Apple doesn’t make a matte black product. I’ve been really loving the cameras on this phone. Certainly not DSLR/mirrorless level, but a really fun point and shoot. View attachment 1930586
I gave a blue color iPhone 13 Pro to my wife as a present, and also an "iPhone 13 Pro Camera Mastering" book for her to practice. I have noticed for about a year already that she doesn't take photos with her Olympus camera to take photos and uses her iPhone 11 instead. I spent lost of $ on the Olympus camera and some Pro lenses, but all that matters is that she's really happy with the new toy :)

If it’s M43 gear, I know a guy that accepts donations.

Every now and then during the winter months in Alaska, we have eagles and owls grabbing and taking off with the cats and small dogs that weight perhaps 6-10 pounds. Things like these are common in Alaska, including this one:

I wasn't meaning to say it wasn't warranted. I was just surprised to see it in action, and so strong. That poor cutie was almost panicking, and after that was much more relaxed. *shrug* It was just surprising...

I have, in their day, two top of the line cameras, one a Nikon, and the second a Canon. They are such a PITA, with the bags, lenses, batteries, chargers, chips, timers, remotes, adapters, just so much extra junque to haul around. And if traveling, I'd rather check a child than my cameras. The cellphone camera killed, for so many people, the dream of lugging things around like a 'professional photographer', and have let them produce photos that rival those of professionals. It's been great for so many people.

I tried to sell one of those cameras. No one wanted it. *sigh*

It’s happening in southern France as well: a seagull snatched a little dog from a balcony, 8th floor. I don’t go in more details. My sister lives few floors below and saw the gruesome scene.
I guess seagulls are predators and have adapted to what cities have to offer , sic.

So every year I attempt to capture mom's fibre optic angel and as usual I'm not overly thrilled with the result. This time a combo of the flash and a slow shutter speed of 1/8th sec. Next time will go for a black background and a tripod.View attachment 1930895
If I may make a suggestion, I think using a dimly lit set and and off-camera soft light coming from the upper right and just falling on the face in conjunction with a wide aperture and slowish shutter speed (maybe 1/15?) would add a beautiful effect.

I miss my time as a recreational diver. Clocked up about 500 dives, mostly cold water around Scotland.

Where is this?

This one was in a quarry close to Namur (Belgium)

I have also most of my dives in cold water places. I would need to check for the exact temperature, but close to 6°C is what is to be expected for the moment with the coldest period to come in late February/early March

I’m pleased to say that I’ve never been a freshwater diver ;) 8 degrees C is cold enough for me, experienced in Spring. Much warmer at this time of year
