Very cute. I would throw some flash on her face though and bring out some of that beautiful fur.

If you can afford it, cataract surgery for dogs is very successful. We had it done on an Aussie terrier who suffered from diabetes. He went from blind to virtually normal vision in a couple of days. Ask your vet for some referrals and talk to a few veterinarian opthamologists about what your realistic choices are... she looks like such a sweet girl!

My favorite shot after another walk through downtown Seattle. I love the colors in this one.

Nothing special but I like this one. Upgraded my MacBook memory about 20 minutes ago, decided to snap a few before I put it in. Up to 4GB now.

Siletz Bay drains as tide retreats...

Took a walk a couple of days ago trying out my newly aquired Nikkor 17-55 f/2.8. It is a nice piece of glass if you're sticking with DX Nikons.

This is the narrow inlet where Siletz Bay reaches the Pacific, and the two sides are separated by approx 200 ft. The photo was taken on the Taft beach side, the other side is the Salishan spit. When the bay is draining at low tide, the rushing water can resemble a fast flowing river. Rising tides create some spectacular currents as the bay fills back up again.

I took it at my garden, c&c are welcome. Still newbie

Welcome. Always happy to see another camera person sharing stuff with us.

Composition is not bad for starters, but the technical details hurt the shot. 1/250 is a good shutter speed for something like this but the 1.8 f stop really hurts it. That's a really thin depth of focus to work with. The tip on one of the leafs is sharp, but most of the photo is fuzzy. These kinds of photos require patience and a tripod to work well.

BarryJ's swallowtail photo above on this page has this camera data:

EXIF Summary: 1/125s f/5.3 ISO250 75mm (35mm eq:112mm)

Camera-Specific Properties:

Equipment Make: NIKON CORPORATION
Camera Model: NIKON D80

Keep shooting.

Dale
