Glad you were far enough away. Another beautiful shot. The sunlight on the mountains makes it just lovely.

Yet another stunner! Beautiful, just beautiful.

How do you follow that?!

Really digging that fog in the background by the mounts. Very well done!

Thanks, guys! I appreciate you sharing your thoughts. :)

I think I'm officially addicted to shooting with my fisheye lens. When I first bought it I thought it would be a phase that I would quickly outgrow but the more I use it, the more I challenge myself to find different ways to compose with it. About 90% of my photography is done at the Walt Disney World theme parks so it happens works well in an environment so whimsical.

Yes, a great pairing of content and style here. The surreal focal length, punchy processing, and outlandish architecture go very well together.

Not my favorite photo in the world, but I was out for a late-night stroll with a friend and we stumbled upon a stash of construction signs -- all with their lights still on! Made me glad that I still pack a point-and-shoot as part of my standard leaving-the-house loadout.

Canon S100 and handheld at 1 second, so you can imagine how dark it was to the human eye. It was eerie.

This is a very cool looking building that you're capturing in a beautiful series Alex. Your awareness of detail and the perspective on the upward angle shots create real attention grabbers.

Hmmmmm...It might be fun and very interesting to see what the architect thinks of these.

Beautiful! The background and the colour of the wood suit the bird perfectly. :)

It was one of those times where you look at the background with your naked eye and say, "yuk" to yourself, but when you look at the photos you are pleasantly surprised. :)

Been enjoying the owl shots but I LOVE chickadees. Used to be able to go out in the back yard and feed them out of my hand. I think this should be titled "Ready Set..........". Nice shot, makes me smile and remember. Can't be any better than that. Cheers

I can't ask for much more from one of my photos, thank you.

For today:

My favourite of the flowers I took last week. Just wished I had taken the time to get rid of some of the blades of grass in the foreground.

Comments always welcome.

Have you been on holiday? I ask because the ground's dry so you can't be in the UK ;)

Mine today is of Bob singing the song of his people whilst Mrs MacRy accompanies him.

Taken with my newly arrived Minolta Rokkor 45mm F2 which looks like is going to be a cracking little lens and my new walkaround on the XE1.

Not since 2011! The ground was soaking, but I have a sheet I keep in the boot for this sort of thing.

I think Bob needs one of Mrs MacRy's nice hats!
Did you see the sunset tonight? I was driving on the M5 and it was stunning.

Getting one of Mrs MacRy's hats on Bob would be "interesting".

You have successfully managed to make our winter look like spring so I congratulate you wholeheartedly on that feat.

We didn't have a sunset today in Luton. The day started out cloudy, cold and tipping it down and continued like that all day until magically.......just around 5 o'clock this evening......out of nowhere.......right in front of my very eyes.....it continued to be cloudy, cold and tipping it down until about 8pm.

I've basically spent most of my day wet, muddy and bathing/drying Bob. I'm so over our winter.

Picture I took near San Jose a while back, just got around to editing it.

I think the exif data didn't make as I opened the image as a smart object in Photoshop. For those interested. It's shot on a t2i with the kit zoom. ISO 100, 55mm, f/8, 1/250s. It was shot in a moving car which explains the flaring.

Thanks so much, Peter. Nat. Geo, Owl... Nudge, nudge! ;)

Aparantly the Northan Lights were visible from Scotland on Thursday, which is rare.

That's the trouble when you are illegally parked. You don't have long to compose your shot!

Yes, the Northern lights were quite active this week. This is a great website to watch the progress of the Auroras as they move in a circular direction around the North and South poles. Click on the map showing the Northern or Southern hemisphere, whichever the case may be, and the link will cycle every 30 seconds or so showing the progress:
