Another weekend of owl pursuit and I finally got a Snowy shot.

Too late. I have set up a Google Alert so when anyone mentions HDR, anywhere on the internet, I drown a kitten.

I hope that doesn't go for criticisms of HDR too! Lovely photo, Doylem.

Nice contrasting hues, Reef. Looks like taking one step to the left could be distinctly uncomfortable!

Yes, you sure did! Nice job on that one!

I have inter-holiday blues. Stuck in Toronto, haven't ridden my motorbike in almost a month, what is the world coming to?

Back to Newfoundland for a short while. Ironically enough, around the time I took this photo, I was getting exceptionally homesick (I almost never get homesick).

I was out in the woods hunting and a friend saw a baby moose alone and went near to kill it with his knife, but the godamn animal hit him hard.

A John Lennon song sprang straight to mind...
"Instant Karma's gonna get you
Gonna knock you right on the head..." :D

Amazing, Peter! Love the glance to you, straight down the barrel. Have you made contact with Nat. Geo. yet? Nudge, nudge... ;)

Just two decent shots from the outing. This one lacks the drama and interest of a flight shot, but I like it.

That's a nice contrast! It's a Cordyline australis (sometimes called C.indivisa in the US). They're pretty hardy and we had quite a few big ones around in the UK but the really bad winter of 2010-11 knocked them back. They get knocked back then grow again with multiple stems.
