Another photo from my "tree trunks & stumps" collection -- another tree trunk exhibiting what looks like a "character or mask" -- from an early-am walk (Aug/20) in Cameron Park, Burnaby, BC (a nearby Municipal Park).

A lovely image and a very nice haiku. This is a great time of year. The light is returning and is still low enough as it arcs across the sky to be intense as it rides across the sky painting the walls with lovely color. Interestingly, the longer the days become, the less intense the light is inside the house because the sun rides higher in the sky, out of range of the windows. Most of them, anyway.
It's also the time of year when driving home from the dreaded office is in the light rather than the darkness. Love it.
