The family dog from about 1971 or 1972. Brandy was a character and 50 years later there's still a tiny hole in my heart at his loss.
I promised myself I would not put much time into sorting and mostly discarding my old 35mm B&W images. Yesterday I did the quick sort, then took a good look at the first roll. Since this was a developer test the G2G ratio was atrocious; 1 rhinestone and 34 of the stinky variety.
Shot on Ilford HP4 film, ASA-400, souped in Ethol UFG. Almost certainly the Nikor 50mm ƒ-2 lens.
NOTE: I liked UFG, but it was most effective when pushing high speed film by 1 or 2 stops. Diluted the grain was atrocious but full strength and replenished the grain was noticeably cleaner than D-76 or ID-11. When pushed the films were very thin and had to be printed on hard papers. An approach I liked but unfortunately this developer could be fine one day and totally dead three days later, so I fairly quickly abandoned it. Easy to do since I far preferred Kodaks 32 ASA Panatomic-X or Ilfords 50 ASA Pan-F to their faster sister films. Pan-X and Pan-F films worked well with more stable developers.
