Decided to play around with some pictures from my last trip to Cal. .
Not quite the Ansel Adams-esque landscape of Someoldguy or Kenoh but we work with what's in front of us...Comments always appreciated.

The engineer in me is bothered by the appearance of there being no way onto that balcony on the left between the first and second floors. Was there a doorway there at some point in time in the past? (There must have been right) Perhaps there was some other purpose for the balcony. Now I'm going to wonder about this for awhile. Oh, where is this by the way?

Happy New Year everyone.
I'll start the year with something dismal - industrial decay. An old 18th century textile mill, once home to the largest waterwheel in the UK mainland. Remained water powered until the 1950s. Comments always appreciated.

Nearly - this is a chemical works on the Elesmere Port side of the Manchester ship canal.Stanlow I assume ...
Cheers Ken - seemed ideal for the bleak-ish long exposure look. Have some others at 5-minute exposure of the same scene but with so few clouds around the sky looked a bit boring.HA ha ha... Very good... This is great.
Thanks georgeinnj - did the B&W conversion in Capture One and added the black border in Affinity Photo. Have done some others in Nik Silver Effex but this was almost mono in colour so very easily done with just the red and blue channel levels in conversion (redish-coloured stone) and a big contrast and clarity adjustment. That's a nice B&W conversion, did you use a filter set like Nik or manually play with settings in a photo editor?
In Milano. I really like this photo ... I know there's way to many elements in the photo and makes it way too busy BUT that's why I really like it. So, unless there is some moveable stone, brick, granite wall there was no "entrance" to the balcony.
