That is dazzling! Green is my favorite color, and that just pops.🙂
Thank you! Would you believe this is the same chandelier bulb featured in the "Point of Light" image I posted two or three days ago? It's quite simple, really: the colors and surface are provided by my 12.9 iPad Pro, which is displaying earlier images that are in a gallery on that device. This is done in complete darkness so that only the iPad itself illuminates the subject, which is positioned right on top of it. One can also use an external monitor as a background for shooting images, too -- I've done that in the past (once accidentally, later on purpose). Just another fun, creative way to use one's electronic devices and cameras!

I just happen to have an iPad Pro. Thank you for sharing that! I have all sorts of creative thoughts and ideas running through my head now.😊

Last photo from Friday's Pacific-storm-fueled big swell. This one is a hat tip to San Diego's lifeguards, part of the Fire & Rescue department. Before the first surfer hit the waves, this guy was out. He helped keep them away from areas - marked with small buoys - where they shouldn't be surfing (there are some rocks/reefs to keep away from) and also to give surfers a ride when they were in trouble, like when a big wave snapped this guy's board in two. Big thanks to them.

Some years ago I also experimented with shooting crystal objects on top of a Lightbox (the device we used back in the film days for reviewing our negatives, loupe in hand) and sometimes also employed colored gels in order to achieve certain effects. With a macro or close-focusing lens one can really get interesting results when playing with transparent glass (or plastic), light and color.....

On rainy days or when the weather is too hot or too cold to enjoy being outdoors there are all kinds of interesting projects one can do in the house. Somewhere back a way in the Digital Photography subforum there is a discussion with images shared when using a specific technique to create interesting "planet" or "world" photos..... I can't remember now who it was who started us on this, I'll have to look through the threads and see if I can find it. I don't think that originator posts in the Digital Photography forum any more although he was once an active participant in the POTD.

EDITED TO ADD: Found it! the technique is called "Bubble Planet," and there is discussion around it here in this thread:

There is also the fun of playing with oil and water plus something colorful -- to this day I am still using a shot I did years ago that serves as my desktop wallpaper on my computers. Food coloring and a bit of gelatin and water in a vase or bowl can also create interesting images as well.
