So thought I'd show one of my fails. You'd think it would be almost impossible to load a sheet of 4x5 film upside down. You have the notches which go upper left or lower right depending on whether you are loading left or right handed. However I must have loaded the left side sheet in the changing bag as it was indeed an upside down load. Result is the extremely underexposed image on the left. For whatever reason I did another shot from a slightly different angle so I can also show what it is supposed to look like.

San Miguel River west of Ridgeway, CO. September, 1980

Vericolor II type-S 4x5 film. Other data unknown.

It's a great talent that many of you have, being able to see/imagine an abstract and capture it in a photo.
Thank you! I enjoy shooting abstracts. Sometimes I realize prior to shooting or instantly as I start shooting how I want to photograph and edit a subject, other times it occurs while I'm in the "zone" of working with my subject.... Some subjects, too, just naturally present themselves to me as ideal subjects for a B&W treatment, while others don't until I'm already in the editing process and then I think, "huh, this might look better as a B&W."
