Maybe a little dark?

Edit: I think it's a little dark because of the max focal length on the zoom. It's not just the best and the greatest😊

Nikon D40X - 55-200 mm
200 mm, f/5.6, iso 100, 1/1000s
Yeah you're shooting at f5.6 @ 200mm. For the brightness of your image, try increasing your ISO to about 400 (in this instance). The other option would be longer shutter but that's inadvisable with a moving subject. That's also where the vignetting is coming from. For something like that, zoom all the way in, get your comp, and then zoom back out some. That way you can crop it down in post if you can't correct the distortion.

I suspected that the f/5.6 and 200mm isn't the best combo...

Thanks for the tips.

I absolutely love the colours you've captured. There's a lot of lens vignetting that could be corrected either automatically with lens profiles or manually to make it look more even. May even try cropping for a narrower (more landscape) cut and level it with the horizon.

If you're on macOS, you should try the Photos app (for free) as it can do the basics of development.

If you're on PC, there are lots of options like Capture One Express. I use an older perpetual version of Lightroom.

If you haven't played with developing photos yet, you're in for a treat -- it's half the fun in creating photos!
Thanks for the positive feedback😊

I currently don't own a Mac (I wish though).
I have a PC but using it only for gaming.
So either I buy a Mac or start using Win 10🥶🤣

The reason I don't have done any image enhancement is because it takes up so much time, and I'm a amateur, so the learning curve is huge.

But I'm gonna give it a try.
Once again, thanks!

Rather be an amateur than a pro; pro's have to make money with their work.

@Matsamoto here's an example. The only difference between these 2 shots is the ISO. First is 100, second is 12800.

Good example!

I can most likely change iso in a photo editing program?

The Nikon system camera I was using at that time was max iso 1600 and with boost 3200 if I'm not mistaken. But with iso 3200 the image quality was not good, not even on the small screen on the camera🙂

The newer ones goes probably higher I think🙂
