I posted this before (shortly after I took itinerary 2013), but went back and edited it again as one of the pics I'm going to print and frame. This is one pic that really suffers from being compressed to get the small file displayed below. Lots of important bits got thrown out. Considerable sharpness is lost as are the subtle tonal gradations (for example all the buildings on the shore actually have tonal detail and none of the coastal area is pure black). Meh, what can you do?
Another from the series of pics I'm considering for printing/framing. I posted this back in the day, but recently edited it from scratch. This time using LR rather than Aperture. In the last 10 years I've become a little better at processing in post (though others could certainly argue that point) .
2009. Leaf in my driveway after a rain. Taken with a D700 and 70-200 (@200mm) handheld. 1/60th sec, f/5.6, ISO 800. Presented with the same subject today I would use a tripod, stop down to get more of the leaf in focus, and use a lower ISO. But I still like this image enough to print it .
