Must be an age thing! Sometimes I don't know if I'm coming or going!
A gorgeous little place I found on my travels recently. This one was quite grand in stature and design, no mincing with words here, you knew they had money if you saw it when it was occupied!
Tomorrow the full reveal, but first a little burlesque!

It's a bit of a walk from Florida, it's this little known of place called Australia!Sorry to disrupt again, but I was curious where you go to find such beautiful buildings! I'd be lucky to find an abandoned modern house, let alone something like that!

We have the ability to search council registries for upcoming demolitions, but I also spend hours scouring Google Maps looking for rusty roofs in country areas. I have over 300 pins of places to explore that I know are abandoned, then comes the fun part of tracking down the owners and pleading for permission to access the sites to document them. Most agree in exchange for sharing images and video footage with them. For the most part it's easy, as lots of agriculturalists own lots of land, with places in ruin on them. Most of those same agriculturalists consider them a blight on their growing space!
Oh, it also helps that I have full public liability coverage, a ticket to be on building sites and accreditation as a photo & videojournalist.
I used to do that too, particularly down around the port area in the giant abandoned wool stores. These days, it pays to seek approval.Wow! You certainly have all your bases covered. I would have never guessed one would need all that to visit abandoned buildings. When I was a kid, we just snuck around back and took pictures through the windows!
Very nice Molly. Nice feeling to this photo.

True, at first glance basket fungus, being so white and geometric, looks like plastic packing trash juxtaposed against the dark forest floor. Closer inspection reveals that it is indeed natural. That is one crazy fungus.
