And they were! I took them my very baby self just today.

EDIT: Oh, you thought she got the pictures. Nope, it's an 'injured' Blue Morpho stuck in a glass sandwich. At least that is the story that came in the box (it's missing its butt). The pictures I took do not even begin to do it justice. There are blue hilights in the brown side that the iPhone missed.
Apologies.....my literal-mindedness got in the way! Yes I had interpreted what you wrote as meaning that your wife had received the photos in email or text, whatever..... Thanks for clearing that up! :)

From the same Beauvais Lake paddle as yesterdays Geese. The geese were quite co-operative and swam across my bow. However these swans were rather camera shy. Kept their distance when I was heading out, let me in a bit closer on the way back. Even so had to crop a bit more than I would like. That pancake lens on the little waterproof Fuji only goes to a 140mm equivalent, and I was shooting from a kayak. Wild life shooting with that camera is the equivalent of hunting with a bow and arrow from the back of a horse. Anyways there were six cygnets even though two of them are not really visible in this shot.

Sinclair looking though the screen on the back window. "I think I left my wallet outside, let me out so I can find it before those stray cats get it."

"The screen should keep mosquitos away" ;)
That's what I thought when I saw your photo, since there are so many mosquitoes in the interior of Alaska where I live. Toward the Arctic Circle, which is located not too far from where I live, visitors have to wear mesh clothing to keep mosquitos at bay.

When I was up in Fairbanks, I kick myself for not taking the 100 mile trip to the Arctic circle. We did go to North Pole for lunch one day.

A lot of visitors go to "The Pagoda" in North Pole. I am assuming that you got to eat Chinese food there :)
Now, the Arctic Circle trip is not bad as long as take one of the suits I referred to before. The University in Fairbanks (UAF) sponsors such trips during the summer, but some of the students venture it themselves. I knew a student who decided to go on the trip without protecting herself against mosquitoes and gnats, other than using repellent. When she returned home, she was covered with swollen spots on the arms, and legs. She told me that she had a terrible time out there, since it was also very hot that day.
