Today’s mtb ride in Michigan near mackinaw bridge took me by these tall plants, no idea what they are 1,000’s of them in a big field.
mullein. they allegedly have medicinal properties of some sort, but they are also considered invasive. which is probably why you saw thousands of them!

Thank you. When I zoomed in the background looked like waves, but a bit puzzled as they're a lot taller than the beach. On my 13" screen they looked like distant a mountain range at first.
