Clover mite.

I was sitting outside and noticed those teensy-tiny red bugs that seem to be always present on bricks, stonework, and concrete. The ones that create a large red stain seemingly out of proportion to their size if you squish them. So pulled out a macro lens and went to work trying to photograph them. They had 8 legs so I assumed they were spiders, but a quick search on the internet informed me that they are clover mites.

Given their very small size and quick movements, I found them more challenging to photograph than I initially anticipated. Out of ~250 shots (focus set manually and then "spray and pray" as they wandered into the field of view), I ended up with a few that I thought were acceptable ;).

What a beauty.

I’m afraid the idiots are everywhere. Though I suppose the sign came after the bamboo was carved into?
I wouldn’t count on it.

Love it. I’ve experienced the same issues with tiny bugs.
