This wireframe shelf unit is in the corner of the library where I have been working from home for the last 15 months. Watson has taken on the role of office manager to make sure I get some actual work done: "Stop surfing the web and get to work!"

I'm spending a couple of days at Grand Teton National Park in Jackson, WY taking photos of the Milky Way and night skies as well as some sunrises. Here's the first of a series of shots taken from the shores of Jackson Lake. I took a series of 15-16 photos using my built in interveralometer as well as a sereis of dark frames and used Starry Landscape Stacker to stack them and clear out the noise b/o the high ISO used. I was using my XT3 w/ the Rokinon 12mm f2. The ISO on this was 3200 and 20s. I boosted the ISO to 6400 on the subsequent photos but kept the shutter speed at 20s. Post processing done in Lr.

Quite amazing. How much of this can you see with the naked eye? Curious how much more the camera can pull out with such effort. Some day I may get into more astro, but until I can get out away from the city, my attempts are pretty sad.
