I did not take this picture but I really like it. It’s young Carrie Fisher with her pet bird Lola.
Thank you. It’s going to be a bit of a journey. Drive all day to get there. Climb up the mountain the next day (8 hours). Then drive home the next day.
But it will make a change from work.

Still testing the 400mm close range. Sadly, didn't have any birds to look at feather detail, but overall both this and the lily pad flower yesterday appear sharp.

After the mother turkey brought the chicks out of the stream bed(photo from 2 days ago), she walked a bit further on, dug out a depression in the dirt slammed up against a boulder, and almost instantaneously all 13 chicks disappeared under her body.

Thanks! Orange is my favorite color and I was delighted when these started blooming in front of the building next to mine. We just have yellow lilies in front of my building.

After my wife passed away I wanted to get back into the community and get used to interacting with people again, having been a full time carer for years, so I signed up for a walking group for those in need a few months ago.
They are so nice and kind and it has helped me immeasurably, so much so that I am able to welcome new members to the group and try to assist them myself.
Nikon Z 50, Nikkor 70-200mm, 70mm, 1/4000 @ f/2.8, ISO 110.
I left the aperture at 2.8 by mistake but it looks like I got away with it

Got this in a bag of divisions a few years back . Every few years , the Presby Gardens offers bags containing 5 or so divisions from when the staff is splitting the specimens in the beds . The thing is , you don't know what varieties you're getting as nobody records the varieties divided , they're just thrown into a big box and bagged later . Don't think I've ever seen another this close to a pure black .
