The crop holds up quite well IMO. I'm surprised you got to within 2 meters though.

Thanks -- I was surprised I was able to get that close, as well. I was about 4 meters away when it flew in and was able to move in slowly. This morning, I got to within 1-1.5 meters of one, but didn't have my camera with me. :(

Same church as yesterday, different angle. Which do you prefer?

I like the angled view in the second image, although I agree with Doylem that either would be enhanced by more interesting light.

I now have a four-week old grandson! :)

Congratulations on the new family addition Ish!

Great shot. Whites are preserved, and its sharp sharp sharp, with lots of feather details. Good job :)

Thanks Rowbear...enjoyed a great day in Algonquin.

Peekaboo!

This was one of my shots taken during my first few days of having purchased a 100mm f/2.8L IS Macro.

PS I'm only 18 :)

...And I wasn't born yesterday...

That's not to say that it still isn't the OP's photo though. Looking at the Flickr photo stream that it comes from would suggest someone who lives in Malaysia and is 18 years old, which this guy does and is apparently.

Edit:

Actually he has posted another picture from that photo stream in the weekly contest (Contrast) so I believe it is him.

Great shots by the way fella.

My effort for today whilst sat at the traffic lights (as a passenger I hasten to add)
