Here's a tip tip for a guy that's been married nearly 20 years. When making a big purchase put some on your card and pay some in cash. That way it looks like you spent less ;)

Pfftt! After 48 years of marriage I just ignore the "what did you buy now" squawk. But, that doesn't happen that often since she says I'm a grumpy and cheap old guy who holds on to every penny.

What a way to start off the month ;) You've just set the bar incredibly high. I was excited to post something with a new lens that arrived today, but after seeing this my fence after a rain seems...decidedly lacking.

Nice. Next time I want you on a surfboard though!

I'll do my best AFB. Won't be a selfie though. ;)
Wow! Great shot Peter!

Absolutely mega!

Simply Awesome. Love this photo.

Where were you positioned to get this shot? Not on shore?

Thank you all for the kind remarks. :)

I'm getting an acrylic print done of the shot. Never had one done before and they're a tad on the expensive side so I hope it turns-out ok.

@ibookg409, the shot was taken from shore. It's a popular spot for this sort of thing because there's a point of land that extends out into the water that allows a side shot of waves coming in just to the left of the point. It's a bit of a precarious shooting position because you have to keep an eye out for waves coming straight in on the point instead of to the left.

Still trying to get to grips with my new lens.
But it's always fun setting up the focus zone in anticipation of what these little creatures will do next:

As always, feedback welcomed!

They are such a wonderful colour arent they? The contrast in their red to black changes is so crisp and vibrant. Beautiful.

Beautiful landscapes, wildlife in action, ocean waves, I currently don't have anything to compete with those things so I bring you this!

I'm sorry, I promise to do better in future (mostly) but I couldn't help myself. I look at this car and shake my head and wonder why. I don't even get the Star Wars reference outside that it is brown. I couldn't locate the owner unfortunately. It might have been an interesting conversation. Okay, back to the lovely pictures. :)

I'm pretty sure it's at the East end of Tunnels Beach which is part of Haena State Park. I got married about a mile from there, a little closer to the cliff in the distance ... paradise indeed.
