This one did not even flinch when we pulled up next to him and his garbage can last Sunday at Bond Park. Obviously a well fed, tame, park squirrel, well versed in the art of dumpster diving. My son's red VW Jetta is right behind him. I took several pictures, and he wasn't moving from the trash can.😂

Still back in the 70s at the Calgary Zoo Arboretum. One of my rare attempts at shallow depth of field. No doubt the 105mm ƒ2.5 Nikkor lens. Probably shoulda-woulda-coulda done multiple frames with different points of focus and different aperture settings.

Nice! Hibiscus coccineus, native to the Southeastern US. It grows where it's rather moist. It's called Texas star, despite it's not being found there, originally. Other names are scarlet rosemallow, brilliant hibiscus, and scarlet hibiscus. 🌺 🤓
