deceptively cute for someone who could rip my face off ...

Dude! Dont make us complicit in this! If your wife sees you posted this she will be on the war path for all of us...

My wife is generally good if I can justify what I shoot artistically. In this case, I think it's an interesting use of an 18mm lens.

My biggest quibble trying to use this focal length is that Leica ultra wides for the M mount have such a long near-focus range of around 2.3 feet (0.7 meters). Ultra wides scream to be in-your-face and 2.3 feet isn't as close as I would like. Stopped down, the near focus point is a bit closer, but still not as close as I would like artistically.

For this shot I set the focus as close as it would go on the lens and then moved the camera to find a compromise between composition (getting as close as I could to her head) and focus.

Going back to your point, she woke up from the shutter noise and was annoyed that I was taking a pic of her. I told her it was a pic of the cat (which it kind of was...) ;)

This little fellow has been in my yard over the last few days. It was relatively dark at the time, and he/she was about 20-30 feet away, so i dug out my Canon 40D, efs-55-250 lens and external flash. as the camera wasn't able to focus on anything, and i had a hard time manual focusing, i was happy i got at least one reasonable shot.

That's when being able to swop over to the electronic shutter comes in handy ;)

I know I've posted more than a few pictures from that part of the world (and I may have a couple of more to post) but it was such an experience traveling there. You are right, it is definitely a unique place. I just hope to get to as many other unique places in this world as I can over the years. :)

Fox puppy I found when I took an early morning walk with my Wire Foxterrier(!) :)

300 mm at 1/64th of a second? Thats reasonably sharp. Generally it would be wiser to shoot with a shutter speed of at least 300 on a telephoto of that size. Try shooting in Shutter priority if you're not comfortable in manual.
Nice job though.
