Eyyy! How are you liking the D3300? I have one too and I love it. Got it on special around four years ago. :)
All the best photographers use a Nikon. Just ask @kenoh!

Here's one from my D750.

Also @mollyc any idea what this is? You seem to be the flower expert on here.

Another Nikonite! But I am down to just my Z6 now as I traded in my D800 this weekend.

@Apple fanboy I think maybe it's a marigold?? The flowers look right and the serated leaf looks like it would fit. There are all sorts of hybrids.

Marigold? Aren't they the funny gloves Mrs AFB keeps buying me for some reason? Not sure why as she has a smaller pair and I don't need a pair! Hope you got a good price for the D800. Seems like everyone is trading in their Nikon DSLR gear at the moment. Trouble is what I'd get for all mine would only fund a Z6 and a couple of decent lenses. I'd rather keep my selection for now.

That's beautiful! I can attest to that, I come from a Nikon family for sure ;)
Love my N2000 :D
Thank you. @mollyc takes nicer flower shots though.

I never expected to like my Z as much as I do but I realized the D800 was just collecting dust and I hated it every time I picked it up. I also don't mind using the adapter and F lenses. I just really like the Z body and features. I'll use my new Sigma lens way more the D800, so for me it was a worthwhile trade. I completely understand holding on to gear though. ?

Funny, I have never heard of marigold gloves but we have those over here too! your marigold is much prettier.

Most of my lenses are the same, but I can't part with any of them. They all have a specific job. Just some of those jobs don't come up very often! (10.5mm Fish-eye probably hasn't been used for 6 years!)

I am wondering if that flower is what is called a French Marigold? Someone in my neighborhood has some planted in a flower box outside on their front entranceway and it looks much like that; the reason I even know the name of it is because the person had left the standup label thingy in there along with the flowers.

Yes, Molly, mirrorless can quickly spoil us, can't it? Back when I got my NEX-7 several years ago I found myself leaving the DSLR gear in the bag and using the NEX-7 most of the time..... There are just some significant advantageous features to mirrorless! When I started thinking about making some changes in my gear, I knew that mirrorless was the way I would be going.

You are going to love being able to shoot with a longer reach now with that new lens -- definitely a worthwhile tradeoff! Enjoy!

Yes, AFB, over the past year or so it seems that as more and more people have gotten bitten by the mirrorless "bug" that they eventually come to a crossroads and find themselves thinking about and making decisions with regard to how and when to move forward in the future -- and IMHO the future IS mirrorless, not DSLR. Now with this pandemic and a lot of people struggling financially, I suspect that there will be a surge in flat-out sales of older gear to camera shops that will buy it rather than just trade-ins as some realize that given a choice, they need the money to pay the rent or the mortgage, put food on the table, never mind thinking about a new lens or a new camera body..... Either way, whether someone sells gear or trades it in for something new, this is going to cause an increase in availability of used bodies and lenses, which, if it hasn't already, will unfortunately also drop the value of older stuff.

I also suspect that over the next year or so that sales of new camera bodies and lenses will continue to decline as well, which of course isn't a good thing for manufacturers or retailers. Maybe prices on some gear will come down, maybe not..... It's going to be a whole new world out there for the photographic industry, which already was showing signs of struggling anyway.

Yeah! I'm a third-generation Nikon user and was super excited when I got my first camera, my N2000 (you can tell how much I love it by how much I talk about it xD). I have this really cool book that lists all of Nikon's products from the rangefinder cameras all the way to about 2000 or so. :D

What brand is the Z6? It sounds familiar, but I can't remember what brand it is.

Thank you. @mollyc takes nicer flower shots though.
No problem! I agree, @mollyc takes amazing flower pictures :)

Z6 is Nikon’s mirrorless camera sling with the Z7.

I admit I liked the size of the D80, the D3300 takes better pictures. It’s a bargain. I’ve had mine for 5-6 years (I think). I have the stock lens, the zoom I referenced in the duck photo, and the “normal” 35mm lens.

Awesome! I agree that it's a bargain. I need to make a note to get more D3300 lenses, as I only have two zooms atm. They're good and versatile, but I find myself wanting more at times. It would be nice to get a longer telephoto lens definitely. :)
