I can see the fish head but have no idea what is holding it. Enlighten me, please.
It was a Cormorant (Anhinga). The bass was a little too large so went back down and came up with the bream, ultimately swallowing it. Might post that tomorrow but caught late with just the tip of the tail seen. Never had seen them eating before, so wasn't anticipating it. Also note how they balance themselves with their wings spread along the surface.

yes, this is a monarch and that was the corresponding caterpillar version. ?This shot isn't that great, but I believe it is the same caterpillar I posted earlier ... just about 10 days later.
