This is what I bought, certainly not for it's IQ, but for historical value...

Yess!!! :D
Now that you have that camera to fill your needs, can I have all of your other cameras that will likely go unused now that you have this? :p
On the topic of early digital cameras, how about a picture from my Sony Mavica? ;)

I never knew such a thing existed! Looks very durable.

I'd thought maybe that was what Hugh had bought, but couldn't remember what it was called! I vaguely recall hearing about them and seeing a few back in the day, but never had an urge to buy one, oddly enough...... Nice to have now, Hugh, for the historical value! Great collector's item!

Which version of Mavica?
You can have my D200 as it seems to have problems with focus atm ;)

Looks good so far and seems to work fine, but has the school's name etched on the front.

It's a nice thing to have; the Quicktake 200 will be the easiest to import photos from out of all the models as it uses Smart Media rather than just a serial connection to a Macintosh running System 7->.
But, being Apple branded (but made by Fuji), the cards are 5V rather than the normal 3.3, and I've had to buy a PCMCIA Smart Media card adapter from Australia - the only place I could find one.

So, me in UK, camera from US, card reader from Oz; a truly global deal ;)

Cheers :)

the FD-75, the date code places it in the fourth quarter of 2001.
I wouldn't complain if you were to actually offer it to me ;)
Ooh, far more knobs and buttons than mine :), and save to a floppy disk too!

To be honest shipping a not quite properly focussing D200 over the pond would cost far more than it's currently worth, after costs and tax are taken into consideration.

Cheers :)

Another shot from Turnbull National Wildlife Refuge. This refuge is quite interesting since it ranges from wetlands to high desert prairies, which makes for a great diversity of plant and animal life. I have to apologize for some of these shots might not be as good as they could be, since I was using my freebie AF-P NIKKOR 70-300mm lens for bird shots and did not want to hassle with changing out lenses. Also, the hike took place in the middle of the day.

A tree that was a casualty of a local beaver:

The only issue is that sometimes it corrupts your floppy of pictures if it doesn't like how you do something, but I've only had that happen twice ;)

Good point. It's too bad. If you were offering it up, I'd likely take it. I love collecting all cameras.

I talked my employer to buy that for my work years ago. I took it home and my spouse promptly dropped it, and totally broke it! She took it to the local Apple Store, and they took pity on us and replaced it at no cost. I don't remember how much it cost. A lot, right?

$600 apparently. I will try not to drop mine as I can't be sure Apple will replace it ;)

Cheers :)

yes, this is a monarch and that was the corresponding caterpillar version. ?
I know they are both Monarchs, I just don't know 100% if they the same Monarch. I haven't seen another caterpiller on my milkweed since the one I photographed. The chrysalis was about 25 feet away from the milkweed patch and 8 feet up on a beam on my porch.
