Unfortunately life does get in the way.

I'm redoing the rear suspension on my B now. I keep creeping deeper into it and can see how this is the kind of thing that gets cars off the road.

Basically, I've gone a bit nutty on a general rule of any part I take off gets cleaned up and painted before it goes back on. I'm on my 3rd can of black spray paint since most undercarriage stuff gets that. I even went extra nuts and actually bought a sandblaster, but I don't have a big enough compressor to do anything very big with it.

In any case, I tacked rear axle seals onto my last parts order, so tore down the hub on one side, including cleaning, sandblasting, etc the brake backing plate, hub, and other stuff. I still need to do the ebrake lever. Half the axle is painted fortunately. Oh, I also drained the differential-wouldn't surprise me if it's never been drained-and tomorrow I'm planning on pulling the plate since the gasket is weeping and I need to replace it. That's more cleaning and painting. Honestly, I'm so close that I really should just yank the rear axle out entirely and get better access to it...
Yup , any time you open up old iron you never know what's going to jump out and bite you . My adventure began with a misaligned door , which led to the discovery of rot in the f-channels , and things went downhill from there.

On top of the Mountain in Glenwood Springs Colorado. (Shot with Canon Powershot @ 10MP). View attachment 1775446

Ooh, I remember looking down on Denver from the mountains. There was a house there, for sale. I'm, sure the price was mostly for the view. I can imagine the views from that house, from the west, and east, as storms come over the mountains, and the ones that sweep up the foothills. Wow...

Yesterday on a walk around the boardwalk I verified something which I had suspected for a while: we actually have two large herons, one which is definitely a Great Blue Heron and the other I'm not sure about because the feather colors and markings are a bit different so it may be a juvenile or immature GBH or another kind of heron altogether. I need to get out the bird book again!

Anyway, here is Alfred, the GBH, shaking his wet feathers to dry them in the sun:

Whew! This made me tired just reading it. :) Despite being an engineer originally from Detroit (who still has family members working in the auto industry) I just totally missed out on the working on cars myself gene. Would save me some cash if I had it though that's for sure. I just love driving.

One of my fondest childhood memories are of spending time with my father in his TR6 on a nice spring or summer day with the top down. I find it fascinating how inanimate objects can have such an emotional pull on someone. Nearly 50 years later I see a TR6 and I'm taken back.

I just fear someone stealing my photos and taking credit for them elsewhere on the web.
You can always watermark them.

Personally I keep the size small enough that I know the only thing someone can do with an image is repost it. Typically no wider than 1200 pixels and/or no taller than 800. Should anyone try to make a desktop image or print from that, they will be disappointed.

If I feel something has potential commercial value I don't post it, although I am at an age where I have no real need or desire to sell my images. I also recognize that everyone and his dog has their own camera now and many would prefer even a low quality image of their own creation to spending money on someone elses work.
