Didn’t know that you have been visiting Denmark?🙂
If you don’t mind me asking, what did you think about it?
I think personally it’s quite beautiful.

Off topic; I have travelled over that bridge many times with friends to buy alcohol in Germany😅😅

It was some years ago when I was working with NATO in Belgium & Germany - I took a few days off in Copenhagen. It was a short visit but I really enjoyed it - a beautiful city and friendly people. I'd love to get back to Denmark but also more - your country, Norway, & Finland. And I bet that bridge is a great drive.

🫸🏻 TRANSAMERICA PYRAMID 🫷🏻

AHEAD OF ITS TIME SINCE 1972

🕰️ Ahead of its time since 1972, the Transamerica Pyramid is San Francisco’s most iconic building. Encompassing an entire city block in San Francisco’s Financial District, one of the most sought-after global gateway cities in the world, the Transamerica Pyramid Center is a symbol of the strength of San Francisco. The second tallest building in the San Francisco Skyline. 🙋🏻‍♀️ Personally, it is my favorite building in San Francisco, California. 💫

Designed Year: 1968 - Year Built: 1972 (Under Renovation) - Floors 48 - Size/Height - 763,000 Sq ft/260m

“The word iconic is overused but it’s truly an iconic building, it’s a piece of history. It’s about responding to a very specific climate of a city, it’s about health, it’s about sustainability, it’s about green.” Lord Norman Foster, Foster + Partners

While working on a job in SF back in the 80's, I found out that a classmate from High School had an office in the building. We only had 30 kids in our class and she became a lawyer with her own office in the building. Don't remember anything about the interior except I looked at her window at the Hilton where I was staying couple blocks away.

Thanks for telling us your story.
It must have been a really interesting job to work for NATO, even if you probably can’t talk about it.
Agree with you that there is very beautiful cities and countries. Never been to Belgium but Germany and Denmark is nice.
And the bridge is quite long, and there is also a train under the water, but you probably knew that already😊

We moved from SF to where we are now in Tahoe but in the 90's during the DotCom bubble there were crazy parties in crazy places.... We had a party in the top room of the pyramid where you have a 360 of the bay area.

My shot of the Hungarian Parliament Building, Budapest. The day after this picture was taken, the "Hableány Disaster" occurred on the river, not far from where we were at the same time, witnessing the emergency response.

From Wikipedia:

Hableány was a 27-metre (89 ft) river cruiser operated on the Danube river in Budapest, Hungary. On the rainy night of May 29th 2019 at 9:05pm the 135-metre (443 ft) Viking Sigyn collided with Hableány from behind under the Margaret Bridge near the Parliament Building. Hableány sunk in 7 seconds. The heavy rainfall and the resulting strong currents hampered rescue efforts, with some bodies found 100 km downstream. With 2 Hungarian crew and 33 South Korean tourists on board, 7 tourists were rescued at the scene; all others were later found to be dead.

The captain of the Viking Sigyn, Yuri Chaplinsky, a 64-year-old Ukrainian, was the only suspect. The court case began in March 2020 with prosecutors' accusation. The captain gave his account of the events for the first time in June and in September 2020.

In March 2020, prosecutors charged Chaplinsky for "reckless misconduct in waterborne traffic leading to mass casualties" and "35 counts of failure to provide assistance" after the collision. During trial, prosecutors accused him for "distracted for personal reasons" during the crucial first five minutes after his ship left its mooring and "did not radio or send out emergency sound signals". (My note: No further updates are available on the trial).
