Mission Impossible! Had a technically outpatient with overnight stay surgical procedure. During initial recovery bed rest, I was limited to no more than 30 degree elevation and dinner arrived. Rarely take selfies, but couldn’t resist this one. Napkin spanned the gap and only had one small drop of food when finished. Of course, 30 minutes later they disconnected IV and monitor, and walked with me around the ward with no problems. I then challenged them to a wheel chair race which they declined, so I won my default! View attachment 2374856

Thanks, I am doing great. No complications, and recovery stronger and faster than the imposed restrictions.
Can't drive until tomorrow. No strenuous exercise with 5 lb weight limit with walking encouraged...but can't carry my camera and 200-600! Just doing a side project - converted 3 trays of slides, thus far, to digital.

MV Loch Riddon offloads at Largs slip after the 10 minute crossing from the Isle of Cumbrae, on the Firth of Clyde. Now. 38 years old it was designed to carry 12 cars, but modern cars are wider and only about 8 or 9 can fit now.

Taken three weeks ago it was a very gusty and squally day, winds in the region of 24mph gusting 40. Crossings were suspended later that day

All the best for a speedy recovery.

That was an extremely wet night - but the photo turned out great with ISO10,000 and 1/20sec. Love the reflections of the water and the mood. Helps also that the MD-11 is a very beautiful old airliner, unfortunately it didn't really live up to expectations. That photo is only with the most minimal edits, I never do heavy editing - I like taking photos but prefer minimal time and effort in processing.

Rare that post 2 due to rules, but exception as interrelated vs single pano. Scanner capable of film/slides sits idle as light box setup blows it away. Of course it is not fair, jpg/tif vs RAW and 27” monitor for viewing and touch less camera operation. Some of the detail I have gotten out of the RAW file I didn’t know existed even on screen projection, then add subject masking in Lightroom. Initially tested with cardboard Amazon box then built this, addressing wobble, heat and other issues identified in the prototype. Digital conversion archival project should keep me busy for a while…and POTD postings.

Killdeers are intriguing birds, and their peculiar behavior might just baffle predators. 🤣 In all seriousness, predators probably avoid them thinking they're injured and not worth the trouble, only for the bird to fly away when approached—it's like aiming at a moving target. Here's a guess: What truly surprised me was when the killdeer turned around and performed the "Broken-wing display." When that didn't deter me, it charged at me on the ground like a bull. The display was both amusing and adorable. I suspect it was defending its nearby nest, as I've learned they often nest on the ground, which is quite an odd choice.

I recently bought this -

https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1760393-REG/vello_nsd_35_35mm_negative_and_slide.html

I use it with my Canon 90D & EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro Lens, shooting RAW. The results are so much better than any of the many scanners I have used.
