What is it this year with all these people putting up their decorations so early? It's still November, for heaven's sake! I can understand maybe putting up/stringing lights on the house if someone does that, as it has been a lot warmer and more pleasant in November than it will be in December, but putting out the yard decorations, buying and setting up, decorating the Christmas tree in the house? Just seems a bit premature to me.....
I find the decorations quite enjoyable, at least when looking at them at my and other people's homes. Christmas decorations are all over the stores in Alaska, right after Thanksgivings Day. On this day my wife had already decorated our Christmas tree and began placing presents under it :)

Now after my second work retirement it's quite enjoyable listening to music in the living room, with only the Christmas tree's lights illuminating the place. Ahh...I may even take a nap as long as the dog doesn't wake me to go out to pee
