Hooded Mergansers are back on the lake! Yesterday I shot a male with two females cruising along. The second male was trailing them, so wasn't included in the frame the way I composed the shot. It is so much fun watching these guys diving for fish -- they really move fast.

Another from the penguin exhibit. Look behind the glass to see the penguins (live jellyfish to the far left). I don’t know the people in the photo, but it adds some entourage to the architecture. Yesterday’s photo is accessed by exiting stage right.

They are actually building a full aquarium at the zoo. This is pretty much just penguins and a couple fish displays. Can’t wait till they get the next facility up.

The first frost I observed on an early-morning walk this fall - crisp & cool air, and nice break between all the fall rain!! (photo was taken on 30 October, and it has been back to rain since then!!)

Taken in the yard this morning, still getting my settings dialed in for the new Sony AR7 III. This was in shutter priority at 1/1250, ISO 640 at f/2.8 using my existing Canon lens on the CM-11 mount. At 42 MP I am able to get a ton of detail at near full crop, it's an amazing camera.

It reminds me of some of the short drives I used to take, years ago, in Northern NY and Burlington, Vermont (close to the border with Canada), except that the yellow-color leaves are from the maple trees along the roads.

Processed in DXO Photolab , exported into Photoshop Elements for cleaning up errant branches and leaves , plus cropping and downsizing .

I was trying to get a photo of these elegant ducks, that I saw here too, up north.
No way , always Mallards and other coming in the way.
So, for this year I’m enjoying your beautiful shot.

I remember being in Antigua, and stopping at their local shopping center: Brysons. They had a sign that said 'IF WE DON'T HAVE IT, YOU DON'T NEED IT'. I can see that in this 'store'. Hah!
