Thank you! I am hoping that they will hang out in the neighborhood for the entire winter, the way that they have in the past -- offers plenty of photo ops for me, then. They are skittish little guys and they move really quickly. Using silent shutter and moving calmly and quietly while watching them and shooting helps, but I still haven't gotten as close as I would like. As is probably apparent, I did have to crop rather extensively in the image of the trio.
The geese love that partly submerged log in the lake and now it has drifted fairly close to the edge of the shoreline and near the walking path. I was surprised that even though we were in close proximity to each other this goose, who had clambered up on it for a preening session didn't seem particularly disturbed as I fired away.....
Almost that time of year again…Christmas Vacation!

We’ve gotten flurries today here in the lower Midwest. Yesterday it was 55F and people were seeing rain, snow and lightning from the cold front that plowed through. In like a lion, I suppose.
I for one am definitely not ready for cold weather to set in.....we've been blessed over the past several days with absolutely wonderful, fantastic weather and I wish it could just stay that way for the next several months. Sigh.....
Neighborhood cat, almost blind, soaking up some sun on my porch. I know he can't see too well, but he traverses the top of the back fence with out any problem. Poor old guy. Everybody loves him.
