Those ducklings posted yesterday better watch out. Baby alligator about 50 feet away. Of course, then there are the eagles and hawks.
This week I posted a separate thread with an animated GIF of a sunrise at Arches National Park created from stills I shot there. Here is what I was shooting: the Tower of Babel:
This 300-foot-tall sandstone fin stands facing The Organ, a 700-foot-tall tower, across a flat space about 500 meters across. Just these two mammoth formations thrusting up out of the flat ground (unfortunately I feel that deprives this photo of scale).
My daughter and I got up before dawn to drive into the park and shoot as the sun rose.

Not very often (or ever) I post images of my self or spouse, but this was at Beech Mountain in North Carolina a few weeks back at a buddy’s wedding. Shot with my phone.
Had to take a screenshot I guess the image size was too large? Anyway, here’s an after the storm sunrise. No edits or any of that it was beautiful out this morning.
We used to have regular sightings of wild turkeys on the property. This one from 2021.
