This week I posted a separate thread with an animated GIF of a sunrise at Arches National Park created from stills I shot there. Here is what I was shooting: the Tower of Babel:
This 300-foot-tall sandstone fin stands facing The Organ, a 700-foot-tall tower, across a flat space about 500 meters across. Just these two mammoth formations thrusting up out of the flat ground (unfortunately I feel that deprives this photo of scale).
My daughter and I got up before dawn to drive into the park and shoot as the sun rose.
Not very often (or ever) I post images of my self or spouse, but this was at Beech Mountain in North Carolina a few weeks back at a buddy’s wedding. Shot with my phone.
Had to take a screenshot I guess the image size was too large? Anyway, here’s an after the storm sunrise. No edits or any of that it was beautiful out this morning.
