Yesterday I posted the first wild bird photo I’d ever taken (or at least the earliest in my Photos library). This is the pic I THOUGHT it would be:
That is a red-bellied sapsucker I shot in Issaquah, Washington. I like the rows of holes they drill looking for sap. This one hasn’t been at it that long, but you can see the rows starting to form.
I remember shooting this: spotting the bird, going back to my house to get the camera, and coming back. In that sense it really was my first wild bird photograph. It’s probably my MOST wild bird photo: all the ones I take these days are at my feeders.
