The last vestiges of color for my favorite season of the year.
Yesterday I posted the first wild bird photo I’d ever taken (or at least the earliest in my Photos library). This is the pic I THOUGHT it would be:
That is a red-bellied sapsucker I shot in Issaquah, Washington. I like the rows of holes they drill looking for sap. This one hasn’t been at it that long, but you can see the rows starting to form.
I remember shooting this: spotting the bird, going back to my house to get the camera, and coming back. In that sense it really was my first wild bird photograph. It’s probably my MOST wild bird photo: all the ones I take these days are at my feeders.

Overcast-ish day at Old Royal Naval College, Greenich, UK.
.. another morning sunrise view from the apartment's balcony earlier this week -- frosty roofs & high column of steam, low cover of fog over lakes, and etc.
From last summer, when I had about 4 hours in the morning to cool the house for the rest of the day. East window exhaust fan which combined with a similar fan pulling cool air in through a west window.

Thanks!... Just a getaway for a few days. Love making photos through Amtrak windows. Hold your camera or iPhone up against the glass and you get no interior reflections.
