That's not what katbel asked. Those posts you linked refer to finding the exif data/settings of a specific image.

katbel is asking how to remove media from her account; like when you click on a username and you click on their specific Media section.

@katbel, I don't think they get deleted automatically, but I suppose @arn could answer that; I have over 1800 in my account. But if you go to your profile page and navigate to the media section you can bulk delete images.

I apologize for the misunderstanding. As mentioned above, I think there is a delete option for the media files.

Click on your Profile > Media > Select a photo = The report/edit/delete/option shows up. It also looks like it's done by the user.

I saw you can delete one by one , but I was curious if you could do it in bulk as @mollyc explained
Thanks anyway 🙂

P.s. I guess MacRumors will appreciate if we delete some

How do you remove your media from the forum?
I noticed some people posting here had their Media slimmed down
Is it something done automatically or done by the user?

There is a way of stripping EXIF data from one's images at the time of editing if you are concerned about that, so that when an image is displayed there is no EXIF shown. Why would you want to remove everything you've shared? Are you planning not to share any more images with us? That would be our loss.....I for one would miss seeing your images!

Of course, yes, the "Media" section also shows other stuff that has been shared, such as Memes and platitude posters and silly videos that people find online on Twitter and other sites and stick in their posts on MR in various threads, so it's not just photos shared in the POTD thread or other photography-oriented threads in MR which are visible to anyone who looks at someone's Media gallery.

I think before trying to delete everything I'd probably test out something first, say a photo about which you really don't care that much that you'd shared a while back, and delete that, then check to see if that is indeed deleted from the post you made at the time.

ETA: just saw TheYayAreaLiving's post and it looks as though you can only delete 25 at a time anyway..... That would make sense, because someone deleting something like 1800 media images all at once from MR would have an impact on the system's database structure and could mess things up royally.

Nooo, I was just concern about having posted too many images and to overload MacRumors and thought that someone had less photos and maybe there is a time where photos are auto-deleted or if I had to do so, nothing else. I know how to remove EXIF 🙂 if I decide to do so.
You are so nice to say what you wrote 🥲. Thanks!🥰

Some of us are very prolific -- whether it be with our own images or sharing images we've found on the internet somewhere else (memes, videos, posters, whatever). I think that if MR wanted to limit what people could put in their posts, including media, they would have stated that somewhere along the line so that members would realize they couldn't just post every funny video or weird meme they've spotted somewhere else.....

As far as I know there are no limits. I've been around MR for a long time and at various times along the way have posted my images, so I've got quite a few in my Media gallery -- need to check to see just how many, actually -- and I am sure that there are other members who have many, many more items in their Media gallery, especially if they post media other than just their own photos. Don't worry about it: you're fine! Just keep posting those nice images!

Oh, and by the way, when I was checking out your Media gallery, it looks as though you have gone ahead and gotten the new Sony A7 IV!! Congratulations and I'll bet you are really loving that camera. Great choice!
