This reminds me of a comic strip. Perhaps Dilbert? More like Bloom County? Imagine the mountain as a graph of, say, revenue over time, and my daughter as a stick figure trying to climb it:

Oh! XKCD! That sounds like a comic design XKCD would do!

The truth is also kind of out there: my pre-teen daughter has started the climb up this ridge at Badlands National Park. I have no pictures of her at the top because…I was rooted to the spot watching her in fear and pride.

(I did not send her up there for a photo op. She asked me to let her go. Don’t worry: there is a path she’s climbing, we had been watching other kids go up it. She was in no real danger. But try telling that to my 2012 self at that moment!)

View attachment 2108398 A Cardinal - this late in the year, they're not as easy to find.
it’s actually the other way around at my feeders. We get cardinals all year, but since they’re ground feeders they’re usually at ground level. But once the snow comes and the ground is covered, I get them up at the feeders much more.

Wild Rose And Wind Belt
Here in the south of Sweden everything is boring and grey right now, and almost no leaves in the trees.
Here in Southwestern Alberta, Canada as well. Though there is also a bit too much white. However we had a glorious fall and I still have a few shots patiently awaiting their turn.
