On a lighter note I have completed putting together a slideshow from Mom's 1998 Trip to Ireland. If you would like to see it, please send me a private message, and I'll pass along the DropBox Link and instructions on viewing DropBox in slide mode as the latest improvements are rather baffling.
You could just start a new thread to share all of your mother's photos. 🙂 I'm always surprised there aren't more individual share threads on this forum.

My 88 year old father passed away October 25th, after his funeral 2 army officers performed military honors service for him, including “Taps” via bugle. At the end, folded flag was given to my 17 year old son, who’s entering the U.S. marines in 2024.
My condolences as well. I know from experience how tough this must be for you and your family.

Some of the images contain churches, crosses and other provocative material which might well get me banished. I mean if a Teddy Bear is deemed offensive....

Ok, I started a thread called "Family photo album", feel free to put your photos there and there shouldn't be an issue with crosses or such. I don't know what the problem was with a Teddy Bear but I think often a photo is not the problem but what is being said or written. Of course I don't know as I do not remember the photo.

I think it could be really fun seeing photos from family trips and or just photos from family members that have a special meaning to the person posting them.

My deepest sympathies. What an honour for your son.

Yep, that's Alfred, perched on top of my condo building! I was out on my deck shooting something else when suddenly Alfred came along and I watched in astonishment as he landed on the roof. I've seen him on the roofs of the townhouses across the lake, but never on my own building. I had the 24-70mm lens on the camera, so not exactly ideal, but I immediately leaned out over my deck railing at an angle and aimed the camera straight up.....

I briefly thought of running into the house and grabbing the other camera, which has a longer lens mounted on it right now but realized that I would have great difficulty holding that much heavier lens pointing upward while contorting myself halfway over my deck railing with the boardwalk quite a distance below. Rather than take chances I contented myself with this image and similar ones. Alfred seemed quite happy up there!

Apparently I missed something. The only comments I saw were in relation to you posting your mother's photos when this is a "post only your own photos" thread.
Yesterday's photo was actually my own, and that was clearly stated in the post. It's the final image of the slide show and shows a couple of souvenirs she passed along to me. I had posted two of her images earlier and ironically neither of those were deemed unacceptable at the time they were posted.

Did they remove your posts? I can't seem to find your POTD posts for Sunday and Monday. Don't take it personally, seems to be a common occurrence here. Personally, I enjoyed the images you were sharing of your mom's project. Some folk just can't seem to be happy unless they are making others miserable. And then you have people here that just want to be in charge of every last minute detail, making life fun(not) for everyone. If left to some, we wouldn't even be able to converse in this thread, just drop a photo and move on. Steve Jobs had a great name for people like this.

Had not noticed that Sunday's was missing, but you are correct. It too has vanished without a trace. I do now recall it was an image of a long defunct gift shop called The Teepees. Not sure why that would be offensive unless someone has nothing better to do with their lives than finding things to offend them. It was one of mom's slides. So while technically breaking the rules, I did do a lot of work restoring some life into that image.
