I thought that I may as well start this month's photo of the day, considering it is October 1st (well it is here anyway).

This one was taken with my new Nikon d90 which I got just 2 days ago.
It is the the first shot that I think is acceptable to be posted on here, but I am still very novice and hopefully some of you will have some good C&C for me.

Lens: Nikon 55-200mm f/4-5.6G VR
Focal Length: 70mm
Shutter Speed: 4

Shot in raw, then converted to JPEG, edited in Lightroom (wb and exposure), and exported as JPEG for the net. C&C please.

Not usually a fan of taking photos of boring subject like other photo equipment, but I was pretty stoked by the results of trying out wireless flash triggering with my new Nikon D90, a feature which my D50 lacked.

So far, I'm loving this camera!!!

Mum

Not a technically great picture, but it's the most emotional one I've ever took. This is my mum (and my son) taken 6 weeks ago at my mate's wedding. It's the last picture I took of her, she died 3 days ago from lung cancer.

I played around with some polymer clay today. I made 2 rings and a fish in a bucket. Now, these are no pieces of art but it was fun to make them.

SolracSelbor, what a chilling picture (your last one) in the September thread. (edit: the one that you posted below)

I don't usually like naming my pictures so i never mention it when i post (i just give it a quick name on flickr for the sake of easy reference), but since we have to for the photography class I'm in now...

"Shattered Minds"

Here's my attempt at photo-manipulation:

There's some parts I am not particularly happy about and I might change later. If there's anyone else here who does photo-manipulation any tips, criticism, or comments would be very appreciated!

P.S. I know the signature is big, disregard it if possible. It looks better than a full on watermark, imo.

I like it, wish I could give you some tips but all I do is shoot film so no photoshop for me lol. I hope to do this once I get into digital but who knows when that will be.
