Taken at what was once the Undercliff Beach on the Hudson . Pretty popular summer escape from NYC in the '20s , 30's , and 40's . Nobody in their right mind would go swimming in there now . All that's left is the ruins of the bathhouse , and a picnic area up the cliffs which isn't used much .
EDIT: Just for laughs , I looked for an image of what the beach was in the '30's .... Here ya go .
To put things into perspective , in my photo , I'm standing near the arch in the lower section of the bathhouse facing the photographer's location in the old photo .My guess is that he was on the rocks just visible jutting out into the river in my pic.
