Someone on this forum was a bit 'sniffy' about Hull (or 'Ull, as we say in Yorkshire). But, after a few photo trips, I'm rather warming to the place. The old part of town is austerely atmospheric, with loads of fantastic pubs...

Hull is going to be the 'City of Culture' in 2017, so I'm hoping I'll get some stock pic sales...

Besides a great magazine photo, it would make a excellent desktop background!

Challenge accepted! I'm actually doing my first studio session next Thursday. I've bought a background, umbrella and everything!
Unfortunately it's some bloke who needs some portfolio shots, but you've got to start somewhere!
Good stuff. I look forward to seeing how you go.

Well, thats it, first signs of winter have appeared - fresh Uggs have come out of the cupboard!

I suspect they are not alone. These are in 6 years old size so I suspect there are a pair of matching 3 year old size stashed somewhere in the house too...

I'm sure they will be rather average.

Not going to be worth waiting for IMO.
Spent the morning ironing my cheap background. Hasn't made much difference. I'll steam it later to see if that helps.

Right listen you... It is the manflu talking... You've got this... You will get cracking shots... Now bring the thunder! :)

I could do with some! I've been watching a few tutorials on YouTube. Mostly trying to get the flashes to behave is the issue! I have a couple of SP900's and I can borrow more if needed. An umbrella and small soft box. That's about it.
What sort of umbrella's? I use softboxes myself. Shoot throughs are tricky as far as spillage is concerned. Personally, I'd go bounce.
