I prefer this composition. Looks great. Reminds me of all those airfix models from my youth.

Good call! yes, I remember mine usually only had 2 propellers though as I pulled them off the frames too hard... :-(

Guy next door to me builds models still. He spends an age making them look realistic. Quite the talent! but hmm... guy opposite is a reporter on local news and he likes his model trains.... hmm... maybe I have entered the twilight zone...

Thank you. Only wish I could easily remove the anchor point from the rear of the plane. The one under the wing wasn't too difficult.

I used to scratch build as well as kits - more effort but more satisfying. Imagine a box diorama with 1" WW1 planes, using human hair as rigging.

Cheers :)

The Notre Dame cathedral. We were there during a Sunday mass. Really awesome experience.

Mate, I am an idiot I dont know what I am talking about... ignore me..

The guy standing in the middle of the aisle makes it for me... that slack jawed looking in amazement moment when you see something truly special for the first time you know?

Exactly what I thought. That guy took at least 50 pictures just standing there.

I would too! just think... that whole place, like most of our old buildings were carved by hand. No machines, no DeWalt sanders, drills, mitre saws.... no Kangol hammer drills... just people with a hammer and a chisel and wooden frames.

Mesmerising....

More so because everyone else seems to be looking elsewhere, looking forward, going about a different business and he is frozen in his moment...

well done.
[doublepost=1507113231][/doublepost]Hope you find this one interesting.

Here is a picture of St Peters Seminary in Cardross, west of Glasgow when it was in use.

Here is a view of the same space from a difference angle two weeks ago. Sad to see what was such an impressive architecture ahead of its time has been left to deteriorate to.

Yep... like it.... but.... I prefer the other one sans "all seeing eye" :)

Bizarre though, what strikes me is how it looks a bit like a strong hold. Is there a significance to that? Is it that in the times of the "wild west" churches were used as a central defend able point in a town like castle keeps were in medieval Europe?
When it was founded (1860s, it was the only protestant church in New Mexico. This building dates from the 1930s. I think the robust construction is more a function of the fact that this style of building was built from adobe brick which has very little structural strength. Any height had to rely on thick walls to bear the loads and buttresses and apertures (windows/doors) were minimised. The present building is probably brick with render but reflects that earlier style. I'd guess....

But there are!! Swimming Spiders the size of your hand that can swim across the North Sea to haunt @MacRy

I'm afraid your mother is right. This is about as scary as it gets and it's only 1-2 centimeters big.
But no snakes (occasional viper), no large predators ( just some badgers ), no scorpions ( just wasps), no sharks ( just small jellyfish).

Shhhh! Keep quiet about her being right.

You forgot to list the ravenous mosquitoes next to the Amstel. They leave welts.

Love it. Did you do that effect with a radial filter yes?

Nicely done indeed.

Well the original image was shot at f/2.8, but due to the wide angle I felt there wasn't enough separation of the lantern and the background, so I did add a bit extra blur in post.

Shot this one a short time back. Some people asked how I got the lenses so red. In actuality I didn't touch the lenses. I only applied some global contrast and a tiny punch up in global vibrance (+7).

These glasses were seriously red.
