Usually I am pretty good at shading the lens to prevent flare. With this shot in the Frank slide area I obviously came up short, but liked the result so here it is. This image is definitely best when viewed full size.

The snow storm of nearly two weeks ago brought from eight to twelve inches of snow mixed with rain, so "Nikki" had a blast playing outdoors. The temperatures were pleasantly warm in the high 30's and low 40's (F. degrees). Most of it melted already, and when colder at night the rain freezes on the ground and the porch steps.

By the way, she may look strong and mean in the photo, but in reality all she would do is to lick you to death if you let her

Where do you find those beautiful butterflies?

Peacocks are quite common and widespread throughout Europe and Asia.
However we don't have the exotic looking butterflies found in parts of the US.
