Weekly photo contest - Waterfalls (Aug 31-Sept7, 2021)
It rains, doesn’t it? It doesn’t get more falling water than that.forums.macrumors.com
Anyways I've been struggling for some time with this little spot in the river, finally crossed over to the other side and got an image I like. Fuji XP90 waterproof camera.

Going from 1/2000th of a second to 1 second would be quite a feat. I am sure 1/10th of a second would do just fine, but even that would require an 8 stop ND filter. Could easily pull that off with the 4x5 where I can stop down to ƒ-64 on my 121 Super Angulon lens. Still it's not going anywhere, if/when I get my hands on better camera I will keep the thought in mind.I would love to se that spot with a long shutter speed. With a ND-filter and around 1s of exposure. Great shot from a very lovely surrounding.

Thank you! I'm partial to pretty colors, nice backgrounds and beautiful bokeh. This was with the Sony FE 12-24mm f/2.8 wide open, set at 24mm and I positioned myself pretty close to the subject. By angling the camera so that the background included the boardwalk but only the primary subject (those colorful flowers) was in focus the background beyond fell naturally into a nice bokeh.....That backround blur/bokeh ?

Thanks! And absolutely no offense taken. The great thing about this thread is that people are wonderfully supportive of each other. You are absolutely right. I'm heading for a 10 stop ND-filter later this fall, just to experiment with those exposure times and water. The result can be quite amazing.
And for the record, that was absolutely no criticism of any kind over your image. The photo is great!
That last paragraph would make a good point in the what makes a good picture thread. Sometimes you have to revisit a site looking for the right composition or correct weather conditions to make a great picture. Thanks! And absolutely no offense taken. I do doubt my P&S waterproof camera with it's minuscule 4.8x6.4mm sensor would deliver crisp images with an ND filter of any sort, but will dig into my box of stored photo equipment and experiment at some point with a polarizing filter.
FWIW it took about 30 completely trashworthy images on 4 separate occasions before I finally got one I liked. Good thing that spot is along a trail I frequently bike and hike. Anyways it's nice to put that one to rest, as I was starting to develop OCD over that spot. I knew there was a really good image there and I just wasn't capturing it.
