this is my first time camping in a desert wilderness! It's a real treat, just so beautiful.
Neat. I still remember a friend's story from decades ago about camping in the desert with a buddy who was deathly afraid of spiders. Woke up in the AM and there was a large tarantula on the tent overhead, on the outside. The buddy pulled a .45 out of his pack and opened up on the spider, with devastating results for the spider, the tent, their ears, and the trip.
The rivers is almost gone. Level is so low that the ferry cannot transport trucks or agricultural equipment.
Where is that?

Part of Nankin Mills in Hines Park (Wayne County, Michigan) that was part of old man Henry's Ford milling operation that made parts for Ford Motor Company in the early 1900s and just a little beyond WW2 (1948?). Though this might had been an add-on and I have to do a little more research.
