Is it a Lemmon's poppy? So beautiful the way is with the petals still to bloom , first time I see one
I looked on the web to find a name, but please correct me if I'm wrong
No clue... they are poppies, but that's all I know... I agree, they are quite striking as they prepare to bloom.

I just discovered , going through old photos that needed a cleanup , that I had the same poppies long time ago and didn't appreciate them that much since I saw your beautiful photo. LOL

Short hair. That was my last dog that I lost a little over a year ago at age 9 years and still miss. She was about 9 months old in that photo.
I know the feeling! I had a husky for 16 years, after many other dogs, mostly German Shepherd .
Still thinking of all of them , each one had a different personality but they all had in common my love and viceversa

The only downside of having a dog is that they don't live long enough. All seven of my dogs have been German Shepherds.
I had a coworker who had a German Shepherd for a long time. It died at the age of 14. The dog used to spend time outdoors, even during the cold winters. He fed it lots of wild Alaska salmon. One night he heard the dog howl like it usually did when there were wolves nearby, and died during the n night. It was curled-up on his favorite spot by the porch of the house. My coworker was quite sad and missed the dog for a long time (he always talked about his dog).

Since we've been talking about dogs over the last day or two, I wanted to share a photo of Rufus, our chow-collie mix. He was the best dog ever, and we had to put him down at the age of 8... he had major degeneration in his hips to the point that he could barely walk, and had started having seizures... was a very sad day at our home... that was nearly 20 years ago, and we never got another dog...

The photo is from about 2001, not long before we had to put him down. He was an awesome dog, and I still miss him to this day.

I got a dog when I was 13 in 1987; she was the best thing ever although she ended up becoming my mom's dog when I went to college. My parents had to have her put to sleep when she was 14 just after I got married. I thought I never wanted another dog because I loved her too much.

Two years ago my daughter convinced us to get a dog. My husband never had a dog and really didn't want one, but I just never wanted a replacement dog for my childhood one. But we ended up with a lab-collie mix and she has been such a light in our lives and I really regret that I waited so long to get another one. I get anxious about the thought of something happening to Halley and not being able to have another one down the line, even though she's only two. It took my husband a long time to come around to her but he really loves her now.
