depth of field cliche-1

out walking I stalked depth of field opportunities. No other redeeming features of this and the next photo:

discuss amongst yourselves

What is it about most digital cameras that gives more depth of field than a similar shot on 35 mm format film?

How do you like the 828?

I've got the 707 and like it a lot and have really looked at the 828 to see how Sony is progressing.

I had the 717 before i got my 828.

I love my 828, start up time is amazing. The manual zoom control is great.
The picture quality is a little improved from the 717. Overall I am 100% pleased with it.

had some fun with my pop's d100 and his garden this weekend...

the single flower and the toads were shot from 1"-2" away with an amazing macro lens.

those toads must be havin' some crazy sex. they were completely zoned out.

Depth of field and digital cameras

The photographer. ;)

Yea, a lot of the time one could point the finger at the photographer. I got unexpected results with several digitals (greater than expected depth of field) and here's the reason:

Interesting to learn that depth of field is not an inherent property of the optics of the lens.

Neat sculpture, and I think the best example so far of limited depth of field.

that eye looks great rower. but the red in the corner looks scary hehe someone give him eye drops

That fleshy red thing in the nose corner of the eye is the caruncle, a normal feature. Sometimes small hairs grow in it, and generally stay soft and harmless.

Anyone hungry?

I was shooting food Wednesday morning. What a mess that makes! ;)

A lack of depth of field goes too far.

Here's 2 pics I made, that relies heavily on depth of field. It's taken with an old pentax mirror reflex, which is a part of a bigger homemade construction...and I didn't use photoshop or anything...just scanned the positives (it's a slide)...
