jessica: Those are some pretty neat shots... out of curiousity, what infrared filter do you use?

I had forgotten about this one. I've got to put it on my website with some other pictures of Paris. I snapped this with my S400 after doing a double take while walking down the street. I did a double take because of the line "How much did you pay for your bad moto guzzi" from the Cake song Rock n' Roll Lifestyle. I always thought it was Motor Guzzi, until I saw one, lol. I like Moto Guzzi better anyway :D

EDIT: added a version of my ireland photo studying neut-onian technique.

Take those classes but don't let them interfere with your natural eye for photography. To go with your excellent spider here is a Hummingbird Clearwing Moth. I'd never seen one of these before but identified it after a web search. They can move fast.

Maroon Bells Colorado

Here is probably one of the most photographed scenes in CO, on a hazy day. At least the Aspen trees are coloring up and the stranger in the foreground was nice to have on a red coat.

Shoes

These two photos were both done with long exposers the first was done at f4.5 for 30 seconds I then used a flashlight to give them this halo type affect.
The second one was done with the same f-stop of 4.5 but with shutter speed of 20 seconds I used the flashlight again but this time I took of the top to expose the bulb and slowly traced the shoes with the light, I held this light about a inch from the shoes.
I think it's cool how the flash light and my hand do not show in the photo

That's a very interesting photo, rpaloalto. Looks very surreal. That's not a bad idea about the flashlight. What was the exposure on that (f-stop and shutter speed)?

(I was actually waiting for you to post that because the description you gave seems very intriguing :D)
